HSSP: Policies and Procedures
Payments and Health Fund Rebates
- All payments must be made at the time of consultation. No accounts will be sent.
- Due to recent changes with the HICAPS terminal, we are no longer able to backdate appointment claims.
- If you do not have your HICAPS card at the time of service, we will print you a large receipt to take with you to claim back from your health care provider.
- This means that children who are attending physiotherapy must have the specified amount with them. If you have private health care, ensure your child brings the card with them. If they don’t have a private health care card full payment will be required and we will print a large receipt for you to take to your health care provider.
Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy
- 8 Hours notice is required for cancellation otherwise a full fee is charged
- Non attendance= 100% fee will be charged for non attendance to an appointment.
- If you are unable to attend your appointment or something happens, please notify us as soon as possible.
- We do have a confirmation service the previous day for your reminder.
Bookings and Appointment Duration
- Patients who have not been in to see one of the physiotherapists here at Harbour St. Sports Physiotherapy for more than 6 months must book in for an initial consultation, even if you are returning with the same injury.
- Please inform the secretaries to allow for an increased time with the physiotherapist and you will be charged appropriately.
- This is for your benefit as it enables us to have sufficient time to assess the current status of the injury and develop an effective treatment plan.
- Please notify the receptionist on duty when booking in if you have a complex injury, or wish to see a Physiotherapist for an hour long consultation.
- If you have more than one injury, you will need to book in for 45mins to 60mins.
- Please note that we are not able to treat more than one injury in a standard (30min) consultation, and still provide quality of care for you.
Strapping
- Due to the increasing cost of supplies we will need to charge for materials when strapping.
- If you are undergoing current treatment, strapping will cost $15 without a consultation for a simple strapping and may be up to $30 for a complicated strapping.
- Patients not directly being cared for by Harbour St Physiotherapists will NOT be strapped without consultation.
- Please ring the practice to check when a suitable time can be arranged and to notify those on duty what area of the body will need to be strapped.
- Consumables like tape will be available to purchase. For prices, ask the receptionist on duty.
Insurance Patients
- Please note that all patients under Insurance, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance, Veterans Affairs and Medicare Enhanced Primary Care program will now be seeing Alysha for treatment.
- The Principals will no longer see insurance patients.
- EPC (Medicare) will be charged at the full fee rate and a receipt will be provided for claiming some of this gap at Medicare ( You will get around $50 rebate)
- Patients under Motor Vehicle Insurance will be required to pay full fees up front and they can claim these back from their designated insurance company.
Letters
- If you require a letter to your GP/ Personal Trainer/Specialist, There will be a $30 charge for the Physiotherapist’s time.
- If you require an exercise program/rehabilitation program for another treating physiotherapist or personal trainer there will be a charge of $100
