Amanda graduated from the University
of Sydney in 1992, and has had
extensive experience in the diagnosis
and treatment of Sports Injuries.
Over the last 8 years Amanda
has worked in private multidisciplinary
clinics treating athletes participating
in Rugby Union, Rugby League, AFL, Soccer, Basketball,
Cycling, Fencing, Triathlons
and Marathons.
Amanda has spent four years
in London as full time Physiotherapist
for NEC HARLEQUINS, a premier
first division Rugby Union
team.
After returning to Sydney she
has worked at the Sports Clinic
at Sydney University and has
been involved with Sydney University
Rugby Union for the last 3 years.
Amanda
completed her Masters of Health
Science in Sport Physiotherapy
at the University of Sydney
in 2002 and achieved
her APA
Sports Physiotherapist title
in 2003.
Amanda has a special interest in the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of athletes with groin pain and works closely with Dr John Garvey, a Groin Surgeon providing assessment of athletes and patients with groin pain and rehabilitation programmes prior to and after surgical intervention. Amanda is involved in a research study called “Predictors of Groin Pain across Four Football Codes” with a group from the University of Sydney. She is hoping to do more research in this area in the future.
