"An APA Sports
Physiotherapist is a fully
qualified professional
with expert knowledge and skills
in the prevention, diagnosis
and treatment of sports injuries.
An APA Sports Physiotherapist
has completed at least four
years of university studies and
has
comprehensive knowledge of
anatomy, biomechanics, physiology,
crisis
management and treatment of
the joint and muscle condition. "APA Sports Physiotherapists
have undertaken further studies
in the management of sports injuries
and are required to demonstrate
clinical and academic competency. Once
granted the title, APA Sports
Physiotherapists must participate
in a professional development
program
to continue the use of their title. This ensures
that they maintain a high level of up-to-date knowledge
and clinical skills.

are highly trained and experienced
in:
- Crisis management,
enabling them to take immediate
care of injuries on the
field – all
have current Cardio-Pulmonary
Resuscitation and First
Aid certificates
- Providing education
about injury management, prevention

programs for teams and individuals
- Providing pre-season
musculoskeletal screening and
injury prevention programs
- The provision and
co-ordination of physiotherapy
